How we choose the pieces that finish the picture

Accessories are where taste shows most, so we edit this category harder than any other. We look for pieces that carry a point of view in the hand before they ever reach the eye. A belt that softens with wear, a stud that sits right against the ear, a lens with real weight to it. If a piece feels ordinary we leave it out, however easy it would be to sell.

What is a woven belt and how does it work?

The weave has no fixed holes, so the pin goes wherever you need it. It sits well after a long lunch, it takes a colour beautifully and the elastic and leather soften with wear.

What is gold vermeil?

Sterling silver with a thick layer of solid gold over it, usually 18k. It is measured in microns rather than a wash, which is why the By Charlotte pieces keep their warmth through daily wear, the sea and the shower.
