The softness that carries a whole wardrobe

Second Female is a Copenhagen house, founded in 2000. Danish cutting softened by something closer to Paris, which is why the pieces read as chosen rather than loud.

The knitwear, blouses and skirts are the layers you reach for without thinking. The wool, alpaca and mohair knits hold their shape for years if they are washed gently, dried flat and stored folded.

Wear the rib knits under a coat through the cooler Peninsula months, then let a lace blouse or a suede skirt carry an evening on its own.

Second Female is cut to European sizing. Australian sizes are the same as UK sizes, so an M is a UK and AU 10, an EU 38. Bust, waist and hip measurements are in our Second Female size guide.

What is Second Female sizing in Australian sizes?

Australian sizes are the same as UK sizes. XS is a UK and AU 6 (EU 34), S an AU 8 (EU 36), M an AU 10 (EU 38), L an AU 12 (EU 40) and XL an AU 14 (EU 42).

Does Second Female run true to size?

Most styles do. Between two sizes, the house recommends the larger size for fitted styles and structured fabrics, and the smaller for relaxed shapes and knits with give. Jackets and blazers want a little room across the shoulders and bust.

What are the Second Female body measurements?

How do I care for Second Female knitwear?

Hand wash, or use a gentle wool cycle with wool detergent. Dry flat and store folded rather than hung. Leather wants a damp cloth and regular conditioning, cotton a cold gentle wash and an air dry, and denim as few washes as possible, inside out.
