How we choose what a woman actually wants to wear

Womenswear is where the discipline shows most clearly. We could stock a hundred labels and a thousand silhouettes. Instead we go deep on a small number of designers we trust, and we look at every piece the way you would in the fitting room, asking whether it hangs well, whether the fabric will last and whether you would still want it in three summers.

The eye matters more than the volume. Fewer things, chosen well, means a jacket that works over a dress and with a trouser, a knit that travels without complaint and a shirt that reads as considered.

How many of each piece do you carry?

Usually one or two per size. We buy in small numbers, which is why a piece is unlikely to be worn by three other people at the same lunch.

What fabrics do you buy in?

Mostly linen, cotton, silk, merino, mohair and cashmere. Natural fibres breathe, they hold a drape and they soften with wear, which matters through a Peninsula summer and a Peninsula winter both.

How do I choose a size across so many labels?

Sizing varies between houses, so each product page carries fit guidance. If you are between sizes, message us and we will tell you how a particular style runs.
