A barrel leg only works if the cloth argues with it. Too soft and the curve collapses into a slouch. Too rigid and it stands off the body like a costume. A quarter lyocell against three quarters cotton is the compromise that holds, because lyocell falls where cotton alone would stand up.
Zoe Kratzmann makes the Ledger in two colours. We took the white and left the indigo, because in indigo the leg reads as denim and the whole point of the shape disappears. High on the waist, out through the thigh, turned back at the ankle in a deep cuff. In Elm you can see all of it.
If you want pale but not this shape, the Valiant in Porcelain is the narrower one and the Acler Amesbury in Ivory is the straighter one at $350. The Ledger is the one to buy if the volume is what you are after.
What it will not do is disappear. A high white barrel is a decision every time you put it on, and if you want a jean you stop thinking about, buy the indigo somewhere else.
White here has to survive a gravel drive and a table set up under a tree, which is why the ones that get worn are the ones you can wash without ceremony.
