Pickstitch is topstitching set back from the edge and worked to look done by hand. It is the detail that tells you a jacket was thought about.

The Crest is 100% linen, single breasted with one button at the waist and cut slim. Linen in a tailored jacket will crease at the elbow and across the lap. Linen does that. It also softens with every wash and every wear. The trade is worth making.

Small gathers at the sleeve head soften the shoulder without losing the line. Flap pockets at the front, a centre back vent and a full lining, so it goes on over a sleeve without catching. Rhubarb is a muted berry with earth underneath it. It holds against navy as well as tan.

It goes on in the morning for a meeting that was meant to take an hour. By evening the meeting has become a table somewhere, the light has gone and nobody has thought about changing.
