Trudon calls Abd El Kader a gust of freedom from North Africa. It is the house's Moroccan mint tea, set in wax.

Spearmint leads, with ginger and clove beside it and lemon, apple and blackcurrant bud around them. Jasmine is the heart. Vanilla is the base. The name belongs to the emir who led the Algerian resistance. The brief puts tea and tobacco in the air around the mint.

Seventy grams, poured in Normandy into glass from Vinci in Tuscany, 6.5 centimetres high. An artisan finishes each glass by hand, so no two stand at quite the same height. Eighteen to twenty hours. Once it is empty the glass holds a single sprig of mint on a windowsill.
