Trudon called its 2026 holiday collection La Nuit des Glaces, the night of mirrors. It is set in the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles on a Christmas evening in the eighteenth century, when the firelight was caught by every glass in the room and thrown back again.
Galerie des Flammes is the hearth. In the old tradition one log burned through the twelve days from Christmas to Epiphany. This is its smoke: Provence cypress, incense and sandalwood. Cypress, cinnamon and smoky notes at the top. Incense, leather and rose in the heart. Cedar, patchouli, sandalwood and woody amber underneath.
The glass is made by hand in Tuscany and lined inside with silver leaf laid by hand, then lacquered to a mirror finish. Each scent has its own colour and for Galerie des Flammes it is gold. The candle is poured in Trudon's workshop in Normandy and comes in a mirrored silver box printed in gold.
The Great Candle is 2.8kg with five wicks, 21.5cm high and 18cm across. Trudon made it to stand inside or out. It burns for more than 200 hours.
