Trudon Ernesto Intermezzo Candle 800g

Three wicks change what a candle is for. One wick scents a corner. Three scent a room while people are sitting in it.

Trudon puts the Intermezzo in large rooms, on a mantelpiece or a dinner table. Ernesto needs that space. Bergamot, grapefruit and rum at the top. Oak wood, clove, labdanum and patchouli in the heart. Tobacco, amber, leather and moss underneath.

Sixteen centimetres high and 13.5 across, poured in Normandy into glass from Vinci in Tuscany, finished by hand. 110 to 120 hours. All three wicks leave the factory cut to a set height for the first burn. Melt the whole surface then and it will not tunnel. When it is finished the glass is a cachepot for a small fern.

In autumn dinner starts late. The last bins come in with the light and people sit down with purple still in the creases of their hands. Three wicks of leather and tobacco hold their own against a room full of red.
