Santa Maria Novella Acqua della Regina Scented Wax Tablets

Orange petals and lavender petals are set into these tablets. The orange is the clue to what they smell of.

Acqua della Regina is the Officina's oldest fragrance, composed in 1533 for Caterina de' Medici on her marriage to the future Henry II of France. The house frames the tablets as a memory of the gift she brought to the Valois prince. The scent is the eau de cologne's citrus, neroli and musk.

The tablets are new to the Firenze 1221 Edition and are still cast and finished by hand. Two to a box, for the linen cupboard and the drawers beside it.
