Santa Maria Novella Pot Pourri Scented Wax Tablets

The dark beads in the wax are myrtle berries. Myrtle leaves sit beside them, with sunflower and cornflower petals.

Pot Pourri is the Officina's gathering of buds, leaves and roots from the Tuscan hills. The tablet is the most literal form it takes. The plants are in the object as well as in the scent. Each tablet is cast and finished by hand, so the berries and petals fall differently on every one. The scent is the eau de cologne's bitter orange, laurel and thyme.

Two tablets to a box, part of the Firenze 1221 Edition. They belong in wardrobes and drawers and among household linen, kept from resting directly on fabric. The house asks for a cool, dry place out of the light, which is what a linen press already is.
