Santa Maria Novella Pomegranate Scented Terracotta

A pomegranate, modelled and fired in terracotta, then soaked in Melograno until the clay holds the scent.

Unglazed terracotta is porous, which is the whole mechanism. It absorbs the cologne and releases it slowly for months, and when it fades you soak it again rather than replace it. It will outlive most things in the house.

Put it in a bowl, a drawer, or a car. It is the Officina at its most quietly clever.
