Santa Maria Novella Acqua della Regina Fluid Body Cream

In alcohol, citrus lifts off the skin and is gone. In a cream it stays close to the body for longer, because the oils hold it. That is the case for wearing Acqua della Regina this way.

The base is vegetable oils and butters: shea butter, meadowfoam seed oil, olive oil and sunflower seed oil, with rosemary leaf extract. Lemon pulp extract is there too. Santa Maria Novella say part of its job is to prolong the fragrance. The scent is the one composed in 1533 for Caterina de' Medici's marriage to the future Henry II of France: citrus, petitgrain, neroli, musk.

It is a fluid cream, thinner than a balm and heavier than a lotion. The house applies it morning and evening to clean, dry skin, in circles from the bottom up. It goes on after the Acqua della Regina Bath Gel and under the eau de cologne.
