A pleated front is what lets a wide leg hold volume at the hip without adding width at the waist. Take the pleat out and you have a much less flattering trouser.

Linen blend, high rise, wide through the leg. Breathable enough for February and structured enough that it does not read as holiday dressing.

White linen suiting is a nerve test in a boutique full of red wine. Worth it anyway.
