Pale blue tailoring is less severe than navy and less exposed than white. In a wide leg the colour does most of the talking.

The Monaco is cut high in the rise with a pleated front that releases into a wide, full-length leg. The pleat carries the volume and the high waist keeps the line long. The cloth is a suiting weave of 70% Tencel and 30% linen, finished with a tailored waistband, belt loops and a zip and button fly.

Worn with the ice blue Monaco bustier the two read as one piece. Under a plain white shirt it is a good trouser.

Choosing between two sizes

The house publishes body measurements rather than general fit advice. It gives its model's so you can compare. She is 170cm with an 82cm bust, 62cm waist and 92cm hip. She wears an 8. Any style we know to run differently is noted in its Fit line.

Bust: around the fullest part, arms down.
Waist: around the narrowest part of the waistline.
Hip: around the widest part, legs together.

The house recommends a cold hand wash or a cold gentle machine cycle to make each piece last. The care label sewn into the piece has the specific instructions.

Cold gentle machine wash. Line dry in the shade. Warm iron while still slightly damp, or leave the creases, which is rather the point of linen.
