Cutting on the bias means cutting across the grain at forty-five degrees, which is the only way to make a woven fabric behave like a knit.

That is why the Lorena falls the way it does. Silk-blend satin, cut on the diagonal, so it moves with the body instead of hanging off it. Rounded neck, wide sleeves, hip length. The print is hand-painted rather than digitally generated.

Bias cutting wastes fabric, which is why almost nobody does it and why this drapes like nothing else in the shop.
