Double breasted, wide peaked lapels, a buckled belt: the Arena keeps every military bone of a trench. Then Mos The Label cut it A-line to a maxi hem and gave it balloon sleeves, which no army trench ever had.

The canvas is mid-weight, 55% cotton and 45% Tencel. The Tencel gives it drape, so the A-line swings from the shoulder and does not stand away from it. The buttons are tonal shell. The belt detaches, so it can be worn open or cinched.

Mos The Label calls the colour Transcendent Pink. The pink is the decision. Everything else about the coat is sensible.

For the Friday drive down from the city it goes on over whatever you wore to work. The maxi length covers a dress to the hem, the mid-weight canvas holds off the cooler air when you arrive and the belt comes off so nothing digs in behind the wheel.

The measurements below are the house's own, in centimetres, taken from the body rather than the garment.

The house publishes body measurements rather than general fit advice. It gives its model's so you can compare. She is 170cm with an 82cm bust, 62cm waist and 92cm hip. She wears an 8. Any style we know to run differently is noted in its Fit line.

How to measure

Bust: around the fullest part, arms down.
Waist: around the narrowest part of the waistline.
Hip: around the widest part, legs together.

Caring for MOS The Label

The house recommends a cold hand wash or a cold gentle machine cycle to make each piece last. The care label sewn into the piece has the specific instructions.
