Mes Demoiselles

Mes Demoiselles Light Lurex Shirt, Khaki Bronze

$425.00

French sizing. 34 is an AU 6, 36 an AU 8, 38 an AU 10, 40 an AU 12. A guide.

Complimentary delivery on this piece, Australia-wide.

It is unlined on purpose. The lurex viscose has a slight transparency and Mes Demoiselles chose to leave it showing, so the shirt glows rather than shines.

The Light is cut short and relaxed with a rounded hem and sleeves that turn back above the elbow. The cloth is half viscose and half metallic thread, khaki shot with bronze. It is soft enough to knot at the waist when you want a shape.

It is made from the same cloth as the Leone trousers. Over a black slip, or open on a camisole, it brings the shimmer up to the face.

Mes Demoiselles is a Paris house and labels its pieces in one of two ways: in French sizes, 34 to 44, or in its own sizes 0, 1 and 2, each of which covers two French sizes. Australian sizes are the same as UK sizes, so read across to the UK column of the house chart. A French 36 is an AU 8 and a French 38 an AU 10. A house 0 is an AU 6 to 8, a 1 an AU 10 to 12 and a 2 an AU 14 to 16. The measurements below are the house's own, in centimetres, taken from the body rather than the garment.

Size chart

House French AU / UK US Italy Chest Waist Hip
0 34 6 2 38 79 to 82 60 to 63 87 to 90
0 36 8 4 40 83 to 86 64 to 66 91 to 94
1 38 10 6 42 87 to 90 67 to 70 95 to 98
1 40 12 8 44 91 to 94 71 to 74 99 to 102
2 42 14 10 46 95 to 98 75 to 78 103 to 106
2 44 16 12 48 99 to 102 79 to 82 107 to 110

Measurements in centimetres. Body measurements, not garment measurements. The French column is the size on most labels; pieces in house sizes are labelled 0, 1 or 2.

Choosing between two sizes

Mes Demoiselles publishes one chart for every style and no separate fit advice, so read your size from your measurements. A French number is two below the Australian one: a French 38 is an AU 10. Where a piece comes in house sizes, each covers two French sizes, so a 1 takes in both an AU 10 and an AU 12. Any style we know to run differently is noted in its Fit line.

How to measure

Chest: around the widest point of the chest and shoulder blades, arms hanging by your sides.
Waist: around the narrowest part of the waist, the tape snug but not tight.
Hip: around the widest point of the hips.

Caring for Mes Demoiselles

The care label sewn into each piece is the authority. On the house's cotton dresses it reads: hand wash only, do not tumble dry, iron gently.
