A camisole cut longer than most. The Barry ends below the hip, so it can be worn out over trousers rather than tucked away under something else.

Mes Demoiselles make it in 100% silk crepe de chine. Crepe has a dry, faintly grained surface, which means black silk reads soft and matte and the lace is what catches the light. The lace is tone on tone, traced along the neckline and down the edges. Fine adjustable straps set the depth of the neck. Short side slits open the hem so it lies flat over the hip.

It is the shorter sister of the Balma, which uses the same silk and lace at full length.

Under a black blazer at dinner, the lace shows at the neckline and nowhere else.
