A raw hem, left unfinished, frays a little over the first washes and then stops. Above it is an A-line in washed rigid black denim.

The Rugged comes from We The Free, Free People's in-house line of heritage and lived-in pieces. It is 100% cotton with no stretch, so the skirt keeps its own shape. Five pockets and a button fly.

It was bought because a short black denim skirt that holds its line gets worn more than almost anything else. This one is from an earlier season and now marked down. Over the years the black will fade towards charcoal.
