Trudon L'Oeuf Diffuser, Cyrnos

A white egg on a black stand, forty centimetres tall. Most diffusers are a bottle with sticks in it. In this one the reeds are the least of what you see.

Trudon drew the form from the cabinets of curiosities of the Renaissance. The ceramic is left unglazed and the stand is wood painted satin black. Eight reeds and 300ml of fragrance give more than three months.

Cyrnos is the garden of a villa above Roquebrune, among fig trees and parasol pines. Lemon, myrtle and thyme. Cedarwood, black fig, lavender and pine. Cashmere wood, musk and patchouli. Trudon's phrase for the air there is lavender and the dry aromas of Provence. Matt ceramic suits it.
