These are my subjects, Joséphine Bonaparte said of her plants. I try to make them happy.

She bought Rueil Malmaison in 1799 and made a garden there of flowers from around the world. Trudon's Joséphine is that garden in bloom. Bergamot, kaffir lime and spice open it. Chinese camellia, Egyptian jasmine and Turkish rose are the heart. Iris, white musk and Indonesian sandalwood sit underneath. Eight black rattan reeds hold it at a steady level for three to four months.

Fluted green glass with the gold emblem, made at the glassworks that makes the candles. On a shelf it stands as an object in its own right. Versailles is the other floral diffuser we carry, peony and tuberose where this is rose and camellia.
