La Promeneuse scents a room without burning the wax. A cameo of Trudon wax sits in a ceramic dish. A night-light underneath warms it until it melts. The fragrance goes into the air more quickly than a candle manages.

Pauline Deltour designed it. She was a French designer, 1983 to 2021, whose work set sturdiness and function beside poetry. The object is a brass cradle holding the ceramic dish, with a brass spoon, 29 centimetres high.

The coffret holds four scented cameos and four night-lights. A cameo gives around eight hours. Change it and the room changes with it, which is the point: one object for any of the house's scents.

Unlit, it is still an object worth having on the table.
