A cameo of scented wax sits on the ceramic dish. A night-light underneath heats it, the cameo liquefies in about ten minutes and the fragrance goes into the air faster than a candle manages. When it is spent you lift out the wax and put in another.

It is the answer for a bedroom, a room with a small child in it, or anywhere you would not leave a candle burning. It also lasts years, because the only thing you replace is the cameo.
