Trudon Rose Poivrée Classic Candle 270g

Rose Poivrée began with Marie Antoinette's fondness for roses and then put pepper through it. Trudon made it with Giambattista Valli in 2010, for the opening of his first boutique on rue Boissy d'Anglas in Paris.

Mandarin, lily of the valley and Madagascar pepper at the top. Palmarosa, rose and amber in the heart. Musk and sandalwood underneath. The pepper cuts the sweetness before the rose has a chance to settle into it.

Of the three Trudon roses we carry it is the driest. Ottoman wraps its rose in spice and honeyed tobacco and Joséphine is a garden, where Rose Poivrée suits a study or a desk. The clear glass comes from Vinci in Tuscany, fired for sixteen to twenty-four hours and then finished by hand. Fifty-five to sixty hours of burning.
