The Great Candle is the one people photograph and very few people buy, which is fair, because almost nobody needs this much candle.
The ones who do already know. Five wicks and more than two hundred hours, poured at the Trudon workshop in Normandy into glass from Vinci in Tuscany, finished by hand. It stands 21.5 centimetres high and 18 across, the Classic's shape at twice the height. No two are exactly that height, because an artisan finishes every glass by hand.
Rum and bergamot first, then oak, clove and labdanum, then tobacco, leather and amber. Five flames carry it a long way. Trudon says it can be staged inside as well as out. It works on a grand staircase and it works on a terrace, which is a strange pair of rooms for one object to suit.
Sculptural whether it is lit or not. Spent, it goes to the bar as an ice bucket.
