Trudon Cyrnos Classic Candle 270g

In 1894 Empress Eugénie had a villa built on Cap Martin and called it Cyrnos. Its garden of fig trees and parasol pines above the Mediterranean took in queens, poets and artists.

Cyrnos is that garden in the heat of the day. Lemon, myrtle and thyme at the top. Black fig, lavender, pine and cedar in the heart. Cashmere wood, musk and patchouli underneath. The herbs and the cedar keep the citrus dry, the way Provence smells in summer. They stop it turning to fruit. It smells of a hot afternoon.

Better in a warm room than a cold one. Fifty-five to sixty hours in the Classic, in glass from Vinci with its bubbles left in. Burnt down, the glass is a jar for paintbrushes.
