Christian Kimber Ice Cotton Short Sleeve Polo, Sky Blue

Pale blue is the hardest tone to get right in a polo. A shade too warm and it stops being a decision.

The cloth is Italian ice cotton, spun from long-staple fibre twisted under high tension. The twist pulls the surface flat so almost nothing stands up off the yarn, which is why more of it meets skin at once and heat leaves faster. It is cold in the hand before you put it on. It is crease resistant for the same reason, and because that sits in the construction rather than in a finish, there is nothing on it to wash out.

Christian Kimber knits it and makes it in Italy, cut short in the sleeve with a collar that stands on its own. This blue runs cool and slightly grey, closer to a washed chambray than to shirting.
