The cloth is Italian ice cotton, spun from long-staple fibre twisted under high tension. The twist pulls the surface flat so almost nothing stands up off the yarn, which is why more of it meets skin at once and heat leaves faster. It is cold in the hand before you put it on. It is crease resistant for the same reason, and because that sits in the construction rather than in a finish, there is nothing on it to wash out.

Christian Kimber knits it and makes it in Italy, cut short in the sleeve with a collar that stands on its own. The navy is deep rather than bright, so it holds under a linen jacket instead of fighting it.
