Two numbers tell you what this is. Super 120 describes the fineness of the fibre. Eighteen gauge describes how tightly it is knitted.

Together they produce a wool you can wear against bare skin without irritation and thin enough that it does not build bulk under a jacket shoulder, which is where most wool knits give themselves away. Merino also regulates rather than simply insulating, so it holds a range instead of a temperature. Ribbed collar, cuffs and waistband, three-button half placket.
