Christian Kimber Garment-Dyed Oxford Shirt, White

A button-down collar with the buttons hidden underneath is a small piece of engineering that solves an old argument.

The points still anchor, so the collar rolls instead of flopping, but there is no visible button to make the shirt look like it belongs at a desk. Six centimetres of collar, which is the length that holds a roll rather than lying flat. Garment-dyed cotton oxford, made in Portugal, soft on the first wear because the dye went into the finished shirt rather than the yarn.

White oxford is the one everybody owns and almost nobody owns properly. Most are stiff, bright and slightly medical. This one is off the boil from the start.
