Christian Kimber Ice Cotton Long Sleeve Polo, Sky Blue

Pale blue under a navy jacket is the oldest arrangement in menswear and it still holds.

The cloth is Italian ice cotton, spun from long-staple fibre twisted under high tension. The twist pulls the surface flat so almost nothing stands up off the yarn, which is why more of it meets skin at once and heat leaves faster. It is cold in the hand before you put it on. It is crease resistant for the same reason, and because that sits in the construction rather than in a finish, there is nothing on it to wash out.

Christian Kimber cuts it long in the sleeve, so it sits where a shirt sits with a collar that holds on its own and no bulk at the cuff. Knitted and made in Italy. This blue runs cool and slightly grey, closer to a washed chambray than to shirting.
