A chore jacket was cut to go over the top of everything a man already had on. That is the whole brief and it is the thing most modern versions get wrong by slimming it until nothing fits underneath.

The Fitzroy keeps the room. Italian cotton with a little stretch in it, so the shoulder moves without the cloth going soft. Four patch pockets across the front because the original had them for tools rather than for looks. No lapel to fuss with. It sits closed or open and looks deliberate either way.

Chocolate is the one that behaves like a blazer. Over a white tee it reads casual, over a shirt it does not.
