A new knit can look very correct and correct is not always what you want. Washing it after it is made is how you take that off.

The vintage wash leaves the surface faded and slightly uneven from the first day. Underneath it is extra fine Australian merino. The sleeves are raglan, running in one diagonal from the neck to the underarm rather than joining at the shoulder, which is why it moves like a sweatshirt instead of a jumper. Contrast stitching along the seams, ribbed cuffs and neckline.

Merino resists creasing, so it packs flat and comes out of a bag as though nothing happened to it.
