ba&sh have the Isaac knitted in Italy in a fine gauge purl stitch, from mohair and alpaca with recycled polyamide. Mohair carries the halo. Alpaca carries the warmth. Both are fibres usually spun for bulk. Knitted this fine they give the softness without the weight.

It is cut short and relaxed, with loose sleeves that stop at mid length. The V goes at the front or the back, so it is two jumpers depending on which way you pull it on.

On a January evening at the beach, when the sea breeze comes in and the sand cools, this is the knit at the bottom of the bag. At this gauge it folds small enough to always be there.

The house publishes the conversion: a ba&sh 0 is an AU 6, 1 an AU 8, 2 an AU 10, 3 an AU 12 and 4 an AU 14. In French sizes, a 36 is an AU 8 and a 38 an AU 10. The measurements below are the house's own, in centimetres, taken from the body rather than the garment.

ba&sh publishes one chart and no separate fit advice, so read your size from your measurements. The house number sits well below the Australian one: a ba&sh 1 is an AU 8 and a 2 an AU 10. Any style we know to run differently is noted in its Fit line.

How to measure

Bust: around the fullest part, the tape straight and taut.
Waist: around the narrowest part of the natural waistline, above the navel and below the ribcage.
Hip: around the lowest and fullest part of the hip.
