Amelie & Frank's Cashmere Throw, Grey

Hand-combed cashmere is taken from the goat with a comb rather than shears, which collects only the soft undercoat and leaves the coarse guard hair behind. It is slower, it yields less, and it is the difference between cashmere that softens with age and cashmere that pills.

The fibre comes from Inner Mongolia, where the winters are cold enough that the goats grow it fine. This is the first piece in our own cashmere range and we started with a throw because it is the object a house gets the most out of.

Grey, and it will be on the end of a bed for thirty years.
