Vilagallo Size Guide

Vilagallo is a Spanish house and labels every piece in Spanish sizes. Australian sizes are the same as UK sizes, so read across to the UK column of the house chart: a Vilagallo 38 is a UK and AU 8, a 40 an AU 10, a 42 an AU 12. That is one size smaller than the same number on a French label, where a 38 is an AU 10. The measurements below are the house's own, in centimetres, taken from the body rather than the garment.

Measurements in centimetres. Body measurements, not garment measurements. The Vilagallo column is the Spanish size on the label.

Choosing between two sizes

Vilagallo publishes one chart for every style and no separate fit advice, so the chart is the place to start. Read your size from your measurements rather than from the number you wear in French or Italian labels. Where the house names the size its model wears, she is 1.74 metres tall and wears a 38, an AU 8. Any style we know to run differently is noted in its Fit line.

How to measure

Bust: around the fullest part, tape level across the back.
Waist: around the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hip: around the fullest part, feet together.

Caring for Vilagallo

The care label sewn into each piece is the authority. On the house's own pages the instructions follow two patterns.

Blazers and jackets: iron at a low temperature, maximum 110 degrees. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Dry cleanable.

Shirts and trousers: wash at a maximum of 30 degrees. Iron at a low temperature, maximum 110 degrees. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Dry cleanable.

The house

Vilagallo was founded in Spain in 1997. Its design team works between Madrid and Piacenza in northern Italy. Production is entirely European, collections are made in limited editions, the prints are exclusive to the house and every garment goes through its own quality check.

Still not sure
