Women's Knitwear

Why our knitwear looks the way it does
We edit knitwear by hand and by feel. Before anything joins the edit it has to pass a simple test, which is whether we would wear it ourselves through a cold morning at Red Hill and still love it by spring. That rules out a great deal and leaves us with pieces we can genuinely stand behind.
Our discipline is fewer things, chosen well. Rather than carry every jumper a label makes, we go deep on the shapes and yarns that earn their keep, the cardigan you live in, the mohair sweater that does the talking, the vest that quietly finishes an outfit. The eye comes first and the yarn has to back it up.
In the current edit you will find brushed mohair and soft cardigans from Mes Demoiselles, considered everyday knits from Second Female, cashmere from World of Nomads, textured pieces from POL and the easy French polish of BA&SH. Different hands, one point of view.
Women's Knitwear, in short
What women's knitwear does Amelie & Frank's stock?
A considered edit of cardigans, jumpers and sweaters, knit vests, polo knits and knit bombers, in yarns such as cashmere, wool, mohair and considered blends. The range runs from easy everyday knits to statement pieces, chosen for the way they wear rather than to cover every possible style.
Which brands does Amelie & Frank's carry in women's knitwear?
The current edit includes Mes Demoiselles, Second Female, World of Nomads, POL and BA&SH. We go deep on the labels we believe in rather than stocking everything, so the mix shifts as new pieces arrive through the season.
Where can you buy women's knitwear in Australia?
At Amelie & Frank's. You can shop the full knitwear edit online with complimentary shipping Australia-wide, or visit us in person at Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula to feel the yarns and try pieces on.
Questions, answered
What yarns do you buy in?
Merino, mohair, cashmere, lambswool and considered blends. Yarn decides almost everything about how a knit holds its shape and how it feels on the second winter.
What is the difference between mohair and cashmere?
Mohair is light with a halo and real warmth for the weight, so it reads soft without bulk. Cashmere is denser and quieter, warmer against the skin and closer to the body.
How do I stop a knit pilling?
Wash it cool or by hand, dry it flat, and rest it a day between wears. Pilling is friction more than quality, and a comb takes care of what does appear.
Do you offer complimentary shipping?
Yes, Australia-wide, wrapped and sent from Red Hill.
