Baptiste Bouygues built Le Passant from his father. The lavender came first and something was still missing, until he remembered the Armenian paper his father always kept in his pockets. That is the vanilla.
ORMAIE is the Paris house Baptiste founded with his mother, Marie-Lise Jonak, who became a director of olfactive creation at French fragrance houses. Every composition is made from natural ingredients alone. It is why Le Passant is green in the bottle. The lavender is distilled in Grasse, the chlorophyll in its stems colours the juice and nothing is added to correct it.
The structure is the old barbershop fougère, lavender over tonka. Bergamot and marigold sit at the top with the lavender, lavandin runs through the heart and amyris and vanilla hold the base. The house calls it a delicate masculinity. It is Baptiste's own favourite.
A hundred millilitres is the bottle for a scent that goes on every morning, at the collar and the inside of the wrist, before the coat.
