Amelie & Frank's Cashmere Throw, Sage

Close to the underside of an olive leaf, sage is a grey with green in it. It goes with almost any timber and keeps a white room from feeling cold.

The fibre is hand-combed from Inner Mongolian goats. A comb collects the soft undercoat and leaves the guard hair, where shears take both, so the throw softens over years and does not pill in months. It was among the first pieces in our own cashmere range.

Picking starts in the dark in March because the fruit has to come in cold. The kettle goes on before first light. Sage goes round the shoulders on the back step while everyone waits for the sun.
